So, so busy! We bought a house (yay!) and have done a ton of work on it. Poor C, I had the brilliant idea to completely redo the hardwood floors. In under ten days. They're beautiful but dear Lord, never again. Our new neighborhood is a culture shock. Hilarity ensues.
I'm in my second term teaching. I still enjoy it and it's feeling less overwhelming. I was also officially promoted. I spend a lot of time trying not to look like an idiot.
The kids are doing great. Syd started preschool and couldn't be happier. Eli's getting adjusted to his new school. We've instituted a behavior sticker chart and he's been doing awesome. Averson, in true Avery style, freaked us out at her 6 month checkup because she wasn't sitting yet. Two weeks later she's a champ. She's weaned herself and while I'm sad that I have likely nursed my last baby, I am thrilled to have pumped my last bottle.
So yeah. Busy, but good busy. We're still unpacking which is driving me crazy, but it's coming along. I'm hopeful that we're headed towards normal again.

Things said in my house
C: So kids, what's the lesson of the day?
Kids: There's no such thing as mystery poop!
Also, the trampoline is REALLY clean right now

Redneck zen
So it turns out that our neighborhood has a bit more personality than we thought when we bought the place. A lot of personality. And I was being not so tolerant about it in my exhausted, uprooted state. Then C called me a snob. And that's how I ended up downing Rolling Rock and watching my seven year old navigate a quad in our neighbor's backyard while my neighbors declared,"They better not try to put sidewalks in this neighborhood!" This should be fun.
